‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ Extended Trailer Puts a Dark Spin on a Fairy Tale Classic

Kristen Stewart Snow White
It’s about to be the season of Snow White as two live-action movie adaptations of the classic fairy tale, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ and ‘Mirror, Mirror, will soon hit theaters.
‘Mirror, Mirror,’ a campy comedy starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins is up first, set for a March 30th release. ‘Snow White and The Huntsman,’ which is a much darker take on the Brothers Grimm classic, will drop June 1st. (Watch the trailer here.)
You can watch an extended trailer for that movie, which stars ‘Twilight‘s’ Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Oscar winner Charlize Theron as evil Queen Ravenna, below.
In a recent interview ‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ director Rupert Sanders praised Stewart’s work in the film, saying, “I think what I realized is that she’s such a good actor that everyone thinks she’s Bella Swan. She is nothing like Bella … She’s incredibly good at her craft. She’s incredibly instinctive. She’s incredibly intuitive.”
However, after watching the extended trailer, it appears that the movie is as much about Theron’s Evil Queen as it is about Stewart’s Snow. In fact, it’s Theron who really stands out — perhaps because she spends a good chunk of the trailer without any clothes on.
The film also looks significantly more violent than past ‘Snow White’ adaptations, with knights getting chopped in half and folks mysteriously distengrating into flocks of crows. Disney, this is not.
