Catwoman has been put in the running for
Les Miserables by Wolverine, alongside Lois Lane...
One Day and
The Dark Knight Rises actress Anne Hathaway might be about to add a musical to her expanding resume, as she's reportedly in the running for the role of Fantine in Tom Hooper's upcoming movie adaptation of
Les Miserables.
It was recently reported that filming for
The Wolverine has been put back to allow time for
Hugh Jackman to play Jean Valjean alongside Russell Crowe's Javert in the film. Hathaway, who famously sang with Jackman at the 2009 Oscars, has been reportedly recommended for the role alongside other contenders Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall. Jackman, who's currently the only actor confirmed for the film, is said to be pushing for Hathaway to land the part.
The casting seems to be going A-list all the way, but Adams' upcoming part in
Man of Steel could put her in the same league as Catwoman, so who knows which way they'll go in the end?
Hayden Panettiere, Miranda Cosgrove, Lucy Hale and
Emma Watson are all reportedly lining up for Eponine and Cosette, and Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter are now thought to be a lock for Thenardiers.
