Emma Watson is Hair-mione Granger no more as she cuts off her locks for edgy new 'do

With her famous role as Hermione Granger firmly behind her, has decided to experiment with a different look by cutting her hair into an edgy new 'do.
The 20-year-old actress was almost unrecognisable as she showed off her crop while catching a cab in New York's West Village with friends.
Wearing a chic striped top and cropped summery trousers, Emma's new look was wizarding worlds away from the innocent schoolgirl Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise.

But while Emma appears pleased by the new crop, her fans aren't finding it quite so magical - having become used to Emma as Hermione, with her famously long, curly hair.
And despite admitting she would be extremely sad to say goodbye to the Harry Potter franchise, Emma is clearly keen to make a fresh start for herself with a drastic new appearance.

Emma's look was apparently created by New York's Cutler Salon, who wrote on their Facebook page yesterday: 'Rodney cut Emma Watson's hair, stay tuned for the results... you will be amazed!!!'
The actress, who shot to fame when she was cast as Hermione in Harry Potter And The Philospher's Stone, has come known for her effortless style and was even cast in Burberry's Spring/Summer 2010 advertising campaign.

Emma's new crop could also have been influenced by her new boyfriend George Craig, the lead singer of rock band One Night Only, who she started dating earlier this year after meeting while shooting the Burberry campaign.
After confirming their relationship, Emma said: 'We’ve been friends since the Burberry shoot. And when I was in the States, George was taking me through a lot of his music as he was recording it.
'I couldn’t believe how good the music was. I’m a big fan. Everything he did was amazing.'
Since finishing shooting the final two Harry Potter films - Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I and Part II - Emma has returned to New York where she is currently studying at Brown University.
Speaking after a successful first year at the Ivy League insitution, Emma told Vanity Fair magazine: 'I was scared before I came to Brown - that I wasn't going to be allowed to have both a career and a normal life.
'I was afraid they'd think, "You're famous. You're given free handbags. Why should you deserve to be normal?" '
