Upcoming Coogan/Winterbottom colab The King of Soho enlists three leading ladies, as Imogen Poots, Anna Friel and Tamsin Egerton all join...
While Michael Winterbottom's latest, Trishna, may have turned out a little disappointing, one place the filmmaker has always found a creative nirvana is with Steve Coogan, and they're teaming up again for The King of Soho.
The pair have already been responsible for 24 Hour Party People and min-series The Trip, so everything looks good for another movie partnership. It doesn't hurt, of course, to get a trio of lovely ladies on board either, as Imogen Poots (Jane Eyre, Fright Night), Anna Friel (Pushing Daises, Limitless)and Tamsin Egerton (St. Trinians, Chalet Girl) have reportedly signed up.
King of Soho will follow Paul Raymond (Coogan), a pornographer and strip club owner who manages to accumulate around $1 million after buying property in London's Soho. The story is a true one, and Coogan's involvement will no doubt bring international audiences to the British production.
