Marion Cotillard courted for Arthur and Lancelot

Inception star Marion Cottilard continues her assault on Hollywood, with a rumoured part in Arthur and Lancelot...
Since achieving Oscar glory for her turn in 2008’s La Vie En Rose, Marion Cotillard has developed an unprecedented amount of success in English-language cinema. It’s a rare instance when an actress holds onto her roots (and heavy French accent), while becoming an A-list Hollywood
star in her own right.
Now, after shining in Public Enemies, Contagion and Inception, as well as plenty of homegrown output, the actress has been offered the part of Morgana in David Dobkin’s upcoming Arthur & Lancelot.
The character has had many interpretations in the past, ranging from the villain of the piece to a benevolent half-sister to King Arthur. We think Cotillard could do very well with the former.
Kit Harington has already been cast as Arthur, and Joel Kinnaman joins him as Lancelot. Gary Oldman was reportedly offered the role of Merlin, but seems to have dismissed the project. Cotillard can next be seen in a heavily shrouded role in The Dark Knight Rises.
