Scarlett Johansson fails to impress with her turn in The Other Boleyn Girl

Leading lady: Scarlett Johansson fails to impress in The Other Boleyn Girl
Apparently, (of whom I'm a big fan) had to be persuaded to get on a plane bound for London to film The Other Boleyn Girl.
Having now seen the movie, Scarlett should have trusted her instincts and stayed home.
I've never laughed - or, rather, snorted - so much at a historical movie.
The film is based on Philippa Gregory's fictional novel about how the family of sisters Mary and Anne Boleyn essentially sold them into sexual slavery for Henry VIII's gratification and their own social advancement.
It?'s all so crass, but with Scarlett and Natalie Portman (the latter boasting, to my ear, what sounded like a South African accent to play a Tudor Queen-in-waiting) as the Boleyn siblings, they will be paraded about so that every ounce of publicity can be squeezed out of them.
I can see now why the movie, which opens on March 7, wasn't released in time to contend for Oscars and Baftas.
